Do you know what? I’m getting very excited, very excited indeed.

On Monday April 4th from 7pm Saint FM is hosting two great bands.

The Doll Set Tones –  Maldon’s  finest-  a truly great band.

They are going national so catch them locally before they enter that parallel

universe only inhabited by stadium rock bands!

Also on the bill is the Hyenas. I saw this three piece recently and they are the best band

I’ve seen for years.  A drummer who really hits and rocks,  a guitarist

who’s a perfect cross between Steve Jones and Wilko Johnson with manic extras.

The bassist is solid and writes amazing songs that entertain immediately.

If you only listen to local talent once this year – which, of course,  would be terrible

Listen to the show on MONDAY 7PM April 4th!

Cheers (literally) Steve FP

Sunday Brunch (Mothers Day) update

Hi all,

Well Sunday is Mothers Day, it always makes me smile that every other radio station plays mushy songs for mums, of course we will be celebrating it with your requests and dedications, however unless you tell me to play the mushy stuff I will stick away from it! You can leave a request now by posting on my Facebook wall here http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=55571720585

Music wise I am going to tempt you with the new Take That single, and a terrific oldie from Labi Siffre, plus a chance to find out where that piece of music that they use on the Nat West commercials come from. The “Golden Goofer” track this week is even worse than last week’s Ditty “I Love Onions” it’s a track from “The Legendary Stardust Cowboy” no less! I warn you this will leave you in shock.

I see we have just missed National Cleavage week! So we might have a couple of articles (sorry) on what men find so irresistible on the female body, what makes Mums so great? And do we as society give a dam about whether Ed Milliband is getting married?

Also the “1 Second Quiz” finally was guessed last Sunday (for those in the dark it goes like this, I play the first second of a pop hit and ask for your answers, if no joy I then play 2 seconds of the track in the next hour and so forth), it got up to a record 9 seconds before a listener correctly identified it was I Try by Macy Gray. This week the new 1 second quiz goes back to a Top 5 from the early 70’s, however that’s enough clues for now!!
Finally Easter Sunday is only a few weeks away, and I am going to make that Sunday’s show a 60’s Sundays. So if you have a favourite track from the that era, let me know via my email address which is nigel.waymark@saintfm.org.uk

So I hope you’ll join me this coming Sunday from 11am on Saint FM 94.7 across East Essex and from midday on 106.8 Ace FM across Inland Andalucia (online at http://www.saintfm.org.uk/ and http://www.acefm.info/)

106.8 Ace FM broadcasts to Malaga, Marbella, Torremolinos, Alhaurin, Alora, Tolox and Coin area in Spain.
Saint FM 94.7 Broadcasts to Maldon, Burnham on Crouch, Bradwell and Southminster area in the East of Essex.

Regards

Hey all,

Hope you’re ready for another Breakfast show on Saint FM, starting at half 7 this morning. Well it was a busy show yesterday and we’ve got another packed programme ahead.

On the show today we’ll have the usual stuff we have on a Friday mrorning (Dale E. Male, this weekend’s events and the TV guide).

As always on a Friday morning the theme the music on between 9 and 10-and with it being April Fools Day, we’ll be playing songs related in some way to that date in the calinder.

Throughout the show I’d like your calls, emails and texts-and of course your entries on this very blog, concerning April Fools Jokes.

At half 9 this morning Mike Hurst from the group The Springfields will be on the phone talking about a musical he’s written, called ‘For Dusty’, about the life of Dusty Springfield. Mike Hurst himself knew Dusty Springfield well and we’ll be exploring how that has affected the musical and many other aspects.

There are several ways to contact the show this morning as I said above, but from here on in you can leave your April Fools Jokes, your songs related to April Fools day and of course your questions for my interview with Mike Hurst on my blog.

Alternatively you can wait until half 7 (when the show starts) and call throughout it (01621 785 689), or you can email:

studio@saintfm.org.uk

Or you can text the studio (the number being 84555, remember texts cost you 25 P plus your standard message rate and you will need to type the word Saint followed by a space if you want it to reach the studio).

Well I hope you can tune in to the programme, I’ll catch you on 94.7 FM or on-line here in about half an hour!
